Fall is here! What is big, round, and orange? Students love learning about pumpkins. Students will learn about pumpkins through finger-plays and songs. Students will practice counting. They will be introduced to ordinal numbers. We will discuss what a pumpkin needs to grow and act it out. Students will practice the letters P and J along with their phonetic sound. Students will be introduced to basic shapes. We will make a class jack-o-lantern using the shapes. Then they will practice the shapes by drawing a pumpkin and turning it into a jack-o-lantern.

Students will need paper, pencil, and crayons.

Hello! My name is Amy. I have been teaching children for nearly my entire life. I love helping children grow and hope to help them love learning. I graduated from Southern Utah University. I earned a double major in elementary education and special education. I have a minor in child development. I have over 20 years experience. My first job was teaching Kindergarten. I incorporated reading, math, and science into my lessons. Not only did they learn their ABC's, but they were introduced to a variety of topics including gravity and space! My next experience was organizing and teaching a neighborhood preschool. I have worked with children from K-12 as a substitute teacher and online. I also volunteered at the local elementary school to help students improve their reading skills. I teach ESL online and I have my TESOL certificate. I have taught children cooking, sewing, and craft classes in our local 4-H program. I enjoy working with all age groups. I just love teaching!
