US Grade 1 - 4
In this class, we will explore several simple options for drawing representations of popular food treats that remind us of my favorite time of year. We will draw cups of hot cocoa, pumpkin pie slices, s'mores and so much more. I love to build drawing skills through the use of fun and popular food items as subject matter. We will begin with the most basic versions and make our way up to slightly more advanced versions. This class will focus heavily on the use of shapes along with familiar symbols to create our finished products. I will demonstrate step by step during the live class where students will be able to ask questions and share ideas. Learners will only need a pencil and some plain practice paper or a sketchbook. No coloring materials are required as we will focus on the drawing portion. Coloring the finished drawings after the meeting of our live class will be encouraged since I would like to demonstrate as many ice cream drawings as possible during our time together.
Learning Goals
Students will build confidence in their drawing skills through the use of basic geometric shapes and familiar symbols that are easy to form. Students will also reinforce an awareness of these geometric shapes and how we can recognize them in everyday objects.
