Pumpkin Edible Cookie Dough
In this one time course, students will assemble nutritious and easy to eat edible dough.
Class experience
Using simple and easily located ingredients, students will mix together a sweet and nutritious snack using a fall favorite, pumpkin. Substitutions are allowed as long as they are purchased beforehand. Following along with me while I assemble each step, your student will practice measuring skills as well as other food preparation skills and then enjoy a healthy snack. Students will improve their understanding of kitchen skills and techniques and hopefully, help out with meal prep more often.
As a Family and Consumer Science teacher during the school year, I have much experience demonstrating cooking techniques and recipe steps. I hope to help your student develop a lifelong love of cooking and nutritious eating.
1 cup pure pumpkin puree 3 tablespoons maple syrup 2 T. coconut or other flour 2 T. peanut butter or nut free butter, melted 1/2 t. cinnamon optional 1/2 cup chocolate or carob chips optional apple or celery to eat with the cookie dough 1 mixing bowl 1 mixing spoon
