In this one-time class, students will have the opportunity to explore foundational skills of public speaking for a variety of audiences through the lens of theatrical performance. Through games, interactive activities, and group discussions, learners will become comfortable with vocal interaction and performance! We will also discuss different types of public speaking in the arts, education, and the workplace. Learners can expect to actively participate, learn public speaking and...
Learners will engage in a community-building social space, learn about foundational elements of success in public speaking for a variety of audiences, and become comfortable and confident in their own speaking and presentation abilities!
Learners will need paper and a writing implement and/or a note-taking device to jot down notes and ideas for activities throughout class time!
1 hour 25 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
