Public Speaking Practice is an ongoing speech class that meets once a week for learners to create and share a short speech. Each week, learners will prepare and present a new topic and style of speech. Learners are invited to join any week! This class is appropriate for (CEFR: B1, B2, C1, C2). In this class, we will create and share many types of speeches on different topics. Speech information will be provided a week before the scheduled lesson. Depending on the week's topic, learners will need to prepare their speeches before class. Learners must be able to create a speech by themselves and can ask questions in the classroom if they want/need assistance. Each class will start with tips about public speaking, and a review of the weekly speech topic and style. Some weeks may require outside resources. The weekly breakdown and supply list will have the required materials. The small group setting will provide learners with a personal space to be creative with plenty of time to share speeches, get personal feedback from the teacher and peers, and fully participate in all activities. Learners will have a few minutes (about 1-3 minutes) to prepare for their speech after the warm-up activity while reviewing the instructions. Speech time limits will be dependent on the number of learners each week. At the end of class, everyone can share positive reflections on the day's speeches and suggest ideas for future speeches. *Time limits are subject to change based on the enrollment of each section. *Topics will repeat every few months. Week of 5/29: Create an advertisement for a product A speech needs to be prepared. Week of 6/05: Break - No classes Week of 6/12: Superstitions A speech needs to be prepared. Dear Outschool families and learners,
I will be taking an indefinite break from Outschool as I am living abroad and unfortunately will not be able to continue teaching online for the time being. I truly enjoyed my time teaching on Outschool and hope to be able to start classes again one day.
Though I’ll be unable to teach on Outschool for a while, I will keep my profile open and can still be reached through Outschool messages!
Good luck in all your future classes and studies :)

I have been volunteering and teaching in brick-and-mortar schools since 2013, and teaching online since 2021. I love teaching language arts (especially reading and writing), math, world cultures, K-Pop, and I am a huge fan of Disney. I want to share my passion for learning with students who have similar interests! I hope to encourage a passion for learning, inspire ideas for new interests and hobbies, and provide unique learning experiences for each student.
My classes cater to small group settings, with six or fewer learners in each class. This small group setting provides more opportunities for teacher-learner and learner-learner interactions. I structure my classes and lessons to encourage student discussion and interaction. There are many chances to ask and answer questions. The discussion questions are usually open-ended to allow learners to think creatively about an answer and lead to more personalized discussions.
I studied, trained, and became certified to be an elementary K-5 school teacher in America, then traveled abroad to teach English in Asia. I taught ESL to Korean middle and high schoolers for four years and finished a 120-hour young learners and teenagers TEFL/TESOL certification. While living in Asia, I took the opportunity to visit many countries and learn about new places and study new languages. I have been studying Korean since September 2017.
I look forward to when I can travel again! But from the comfort of home, I love still being able to connect with students all over the world through Outschool’s online classes!
I look forward to seeing you soon~
