Public Speaking Practice (Flex)

Learners become more comfortable writing and making speeches in front of peers without the stress of a live audience.

Week 1: Learners will make a speech from a story that they love as a self-introduction and become comfortable speaking on camera for a virtual audience.
Week 2: Learners will make a speech from a story that they enjoy to practice the written/brainstorming skills reviewed in the pre-recorded lesson.
Week 3: Learners will write a speech about a topic they don't love to practice the public speaking skills reviewed in the pre-recorded lesson.
Week 4: Learners will make a creative speech about a random topic they choose, using skills previously learned in pre-recorded lessons.
Week 5: Learners will make a speech about a topic they consider themselves experts in to create a professional-type speech.

Learners will have to find or write a speech to record and share before the end of the week.

No live meetings, and an estimated 2 - 4 hours per week outside of class.
