In this fun and highly interactive class, participants build public speaking confidence by (1) practicing public speaking skills (volume, tempo, eye contact, etc.), (2) organizing their thoughts for a speech with a simple outline, and (3) participating in conversations in a safe, positive environment. Great speakers are prepared speakers. Every speech (generally 1-4 minutes) provides participants with opportunities to practice different speaking skills: Speech #1: Introduction / Create an Outline Speech #2: Organize Your Speech Speech #3: Demonstration Speech #4: Storytelling Speech #5: Informational Speech Speech #6: Debate Skills Speech #7: Motivational Speech Speech #8: Persuasion Speech #9: Impromptu Speaking Speech #10: SMART Goals Speech Learners receive personalized feedback and encouragement to overcome "stage fright," manage speaking anxiety, and build public speaking confidence. Whether students are new to public speaking or want to sharpen their speaking skills, this class offers something for everyone. Participants may join at any time and do not need to attend classes in order. Many learners enjoy taking this class more than once to continue practicing new speech types and refining their public speaking gifts. Please let me know if you have any questions or need more information about this class. I look forward to empowering your child with public speaking skills. *** If your student joins after the course has started, consider enrolling them in my one-session workshop, “Create an Awesome Speech Outline for a Presentation or Contest,” to help them get comfortable using the weekly outline tool. *** Please Note: This class is not intended for students with speech-language disorders. While I am a certified public speaking instructor with over 30 years of teaching and coaching experience, I do not hold credentials in speech pathology. ***
