In this multi-day class, I want to help alleviate the fear some children have when meeting new people and speaking with others. The goal is to aid in developing the skills and confidence needed to engage with others. Building confidence, knowing how to present yourself to others, and knowing what to ask and say in a small group or public forum...
The goal of this class is to help students be more confident speaking in a small group or public forum setting.
I was on an elite, award-winning speech and debate team for 4 years, served as on-air talent and student director of a public access television station, was a member of an improv comedy troupe, and have a degree in Communications with dual concentrations in Broadcasting and Theater.
There is no homework for the class, but you may wish to encourage your child to discuss the conversations that took place in class in order to support them in building their self-confidence in conversations and social interactions with others.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
25 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
