US Grade 5 - 8
(Class 1 of 4) In this class, we will learn about the Frontal Lobe of the brain. We will discuss what the Frontal Lobe does, what it controls, how it impacts our daily functions and decision-making, and the story of Phineas Gage. A model of the brain will be used to locate the Frontal Lobe of the brain in relation to the human head. This class is structured with power-point slides that are easy to follow. I believe in teaching the students through experiences rather than memorization. The more the students participate and interact with fellow students and the teacher, the more we will get out of the class. I use a person-centered and positive teaching approach. All that is required of this class is to be ready to have fun. There are currently four classes about the lobes of the brain. This class is recommended to take first. Let's have fun and dive into the complex world of the human brain!
