Class Experience

Have you heard about narcissism, but not really sure what it looks like in every day life? Or maybe wonder if you can change a narcissist? Or how you would know a narcissist if you met one at a social event? We answer these questions and more in this class.

This class is ideal for learners who have an interest in understanding Narcissistic Personality Disorder. No prior experience is needed for this class, only an interest in personality disorders. There is a part 1 to this class, but the classes can be taken in any order. Each class highlights different elements of NPD.

This is an educational, fact-based course, and not a counseling or therapy group.

Because research says students learn better when relaxed, learners will not be called on. Chat box polls will be used to encourage participation. Participation is welcomed but never required.

The class will have five sections.
I. Define Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD), based on criteria listed in the Diagnostical & Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders
II. Define eight terms associated with NPD
III. List and describe six different types of narcissism
IV. Describe how 5 types of narcissist would interact in a social setting

I have a structured, yet humor-filled teaching style, designed to keep student's interest, and help learner's feel comfortable. I'll use slides and class outline to reinforce concepts, as well.
