Students will be asked to define the previously learned words or to use them in a sentence as the class progresses. The repetition of encountering the words on repeated occasions will help to solidify student learning.Class Experience
PowerPoint slides with colorful pictures will be used to introduce a unit of PSAT/SAT vocabulary words. Examples of sentences that utilize those words will be provided by the teacher. Students will then be invited to recall the previously learned words and to use them in sentences. Students will be encouraged to engage in calculated risk-taking with their approach to encountering new vocabulary words. The teacher will strive to create a "safe" environment where making mistakes is a valued and understandable part of the learning process. While it is not mandatory, it is strongly recommended that students take the PSAT/SAT Words Vocabulary Class: Unit #1 class prior to taking this class.
