In this 45 minute class students will learn the basic proportions of the face and practice applying these measurements in a portrait drawing from their imagination.
Class experience
This class will include an overview of the basic proportions of the face. We will begin class with a presentation on the measurements that can be applied to the facial structure and see how they have been used in famous artworks. After the presentation each student can independently begin a drawing using the proportions that were taught. The students will learn the basic proportions of the facial structure including the placement of the eyes, nose, mouth, and ears. The students will then apply this knowledge to a portrait drawing from their imagination.
Homework Offered
If the students do not finish their drawing in class, I recommend that they upload it to the portal when it is complete for feedback.0 - 1 hours per week outside of class
Assessments Offered
The students will receive informal assessments and feedback on their portrait drawings.Grades Offered
Drawing materials including but not limited to: paper, pencils, charcoal, colored pencils, erasers, an iPad for drawing, etc. You can pick the materials that you want to use. I will be demonstrating my drawing on an iPad.
