Class Experience

The students will learn about six specific types of propaganda. They will practice identifying propaganda in different advertisements, and learn about how the propaganda is trying to influence how they think. We will discuss why it is important to recognize propaganda and the effect it can have on individuals. The students will then complete an escape room together as a class in which they must identify the propaganda in order to escape. To finish, the students will work together to use...

This class is taught in English.

Students will be able to identify and recognize six different types of propaganda in advertising.

Being able to recognize propaganda in literature and images is an important critical thinking skill. I have a Bachelor's degree in English, which gives me expertise in teaching how to analyze and evaluate different forms of literature, including propaganda within advertisements.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
