Class Experience
In this online live course, students will learn the most popular programming language for web design and applications. Our project-based lessons allow students to practice essential programming skills while working on fun and unique creations. All students will be asked to apply what they’ve learned to create a final project of their own design which will be presented on the last day of class. Week 1Lesson 1ReviewReview HTML and JavaScript concepts. Ensure everyone in the class is prepared for future projects.Week 2Lesson 2ClockCreate a working clock in JavaScript and HTML that will display the time.Week 3Lesson 3QuizCreate a JavaScript quiz game where students are able to customize the questions and answers.Week 4Lesson 4Tic Tac ToeCreate the classic game of Tic Tac Toe in JavaScript and customize the appearance with the addition of HTML and CSS.Week 5Lesson 5Guess the WordStudents create a game in which the computer will pick a random word and the player must figure out the word in a certain amount of letter guesses.Week 6Lesson 6Mad LibsStudents create a game in which the player is prompted for different types of words which are used to fill in the blanks to complete a story with funny results.Week 7Lesson 7Code clickerStudents create a game like cookie clicker in which players click to earn coins and use those coins to buy abilities that will increase the rate of coin production.Week 8Lesson 8Dots and boxesStudents create a game of dots and boxes in which the user will be able to pick the grid size and if they want to go first or second.Week 9Lesson 9ReviewAll previously taught concepts are reviewed, with special attention given to topics students wish to apply to their own final projects.Week 10Lesson 10Final ProjectThe students will create their own program applying what they have learned throughout the class. Upon completion, the projects are demonstrated by their creators.

Broadband internet with at least 1.8Mbps download and 900Kbps upload speeds Webcam - Either external or built-in (many laptops have an integrated camera). Microphone and Speakers - We recommend headphones with an integrated microphone
