In this two day interactive course, students will explore career interests (using a professional assessment). Students will also discuss the type of work and work environment that is the best fit for them.

Beginner Level
Growing up can be exciting and overwhelming all at once! This is the perfect time to start connecting what you like to do with what you may decide to do in the future. In this fun and interactive course, students will explore careers of interest, discuss important career decision points, and learn work-related terminology. Career Exploration Session 1: Finding "My Thing" Getting started with a career search! Students will learn about industries and business functions. Students will also be assigned a career assessment to complete before our next session. Session 2: Learning What It Takes Narrowing down a career list to the top 3! Through a fun activity, students will explore their career assessment results and identify the top careers that match their interest. Students will be assigned a quick activity to explore their top choice. Our classroom is a collaborative community that is a safe space for sharing doubts and excitement related to preparing for adulthood. Students are expected to be respectful to others as they learn together, but also be ready to have fun, crack jokes, and support each other. Students are welcomed to share their personal experiences in class for additional guidance or to help others. The primary goal of my classes is that students leave more confident and prepared to define their future.
