Calling all digital artists! Learn to use the Procreate app on your iPad in this directed drawing style class. This is class is appropriate for beginners and is paced to give learners plenty of time to practice and explore some of the most commonly used Procreate features. If your learner has experience using Procreate and is looking to brush up on their digital art skills, I have an intermediate level class too. *Please note that at this time, Procreate is only available for Apple devices. Students MUST have the Procreate app installed on their device prior to class to be able to take it. It's ok if students need to use the same device for both Zoom and Procreate. A stylus of some kind is helpful but not necessary. We'll begin each class with introductions and a preview of the day's project. Then we will jump right in with the day's digital illustration. Students are welcome to customize it however they like, or make theirs look exactly like mine. At the end of class, we will take a few minutes to share our artwork and reflect on what we are proud of and what we found challenging. Students are encouraged to ask questions or let me know if they are having trouble at any time! I share my screen throughout class so students can see exactly how to navigate the app and can follow along in real time. I pause between steps to give everyone a chance to complete them and love seeing what students come up with. *Please note that these projects are the same subjects as in the intermediate class, just simplified for beginner artists. Students will need an iPad with the Procreate app downloaded and ready to use. Procreate is available in the IOS app store for $9.99. Procreate is NOT available for non Apple devices. A stylus is helpful but not necessary.

Hi! I'm Mrs. Huey and I teach elementary and middle school aged kids how to draw and animate on iPads using the Procreate app. These classes are a fun, safe place to foster creativity, showcase artistic expression, and let learners be their most authentic selves.
In my classes, we gather together to explore the far reaches of our imaginations. Whether drawing an under-the-sea waterscape, animating a prehistoric sauropod, or taking creative license with a hand drawn selfie, everyone's ideas and personalities are welcomed.
I've been working as an elementary school teacher in private, public, and charter schools in Northern California since 2009. Prior to that, I earned a B.A. in communication with a minor in environmental science and spent some time working in the public relations industry.
When I'm not teaching, I split my free time among many different interests! I like to run, hike, travel, take nature photos, play guitar, read, write, and practice yoga.Reviews
