Class Experience
"Creativity is contagious, pass it on." - Albert Einstein In this one on one class, we will use procreate to create art. Each month, I will provide a theme for us to use as inspiration. For example: June the theme will be the Ocean, July Summer, August School... Students will not be limited by the theme. If they would rather draw something else, or do a weekly drawing challenge that is also an option. Each time we meet, we will talk about different aspects of Procreate and practice using that skill. Classes are tailored for each student. The first few lessons we will be going over the following topics: Lesson 1: Getting Started - a look at some of the very basics, how to add a canvas, different brushes, eraser, how to undo an how to clear canvas, change color and smudge tool. Lesson 2: Playing with color - How to create your own size canvas, h ow to edit brushes, how to name our art, how to create variations of colors, how to keep color wheel open, how to create your own color pallet and more Lesson 3: Layers and how to use them. Lesson 4: Selection tool and ways. to use it If we need ideas of what to draw or more guidance on how to draw, we will probably look at Arthub4kids YouTube channel. That channel is full of how to draw videos that are amazing. The goal of this class is for students to have fun, practice, and create something they are proud of.

Welcome! Thank you for taking the time to visit my virtual classroom. I am a certified teacher offering classes in Spanish, English as a Second Language, Reading, and elementary school subjects and crochet. If you would like me to work with your child, please don't hesitate to reach out! I look forward to meeting you and your child.
When I was in high school, I had an opportunity to internship at an elementary school and from that moment I fell in love with education. I went on to get my degree in Elementary Education from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and have been teaching ever since. I started out in the regular elementary classroom and then had opportunities to teach Spanish, Reading and English as a Second Language.
I love helping children grow as learners. It gives me great joy to see them learn and achieve their goals. There is nothing better than working with a struggling reader and hearing them say "I can read this!" I believe that children learn best when they are having fun, and feel safe. It is my goal to make each child feel this way. I want them to know that they matter to me.
I was born in Venezuela and moved to the states at the age of 10. This has helped me connect with my ESL students in the past because I understand what they are going through. In Venezuela they speak Spanish, which is why I feel comfortable teaching Spanish to young learners. I have 3 kids and I decided to work from home so that I could enjoy as much of my time with them as possible. Time flies and I want to continue working in education and encouraging children to find a love of learning.
