In this fun and informational class, students will learn valuable tips and tricks using Procreate to create gorgeous animated art. Students will begin each class by sharing their art they have made on Procreate, and the first class will have an icebreaker to get to know one another and build comfort. I always begin my art lessons with the following rules: be kind to others, and be kind and patient with yourself! I believe my classes will help your children develop patience, perseverance, and problem solving skills. I teach by sharing my Procreate screen on Zoom. I will guide students step-by-step through each artwork. Lessons will utilize the following techniques: gaussian blur, brushes, layers, grouping layers, animation assist, duplicating layers, and more! A basic knowledge of where the brushes, layers, and magic wand are located is helpful--just playing around with the program a bit beforehand will go a long way in building comfort and understanding the platform, but I am here to help! I am a patient, kind, calm, engaging, and interactive teacher who loves teaching students art and hearing students say "Wow-I didn't know I could create that!" I can't wait to see you in class! No need to take my original animation camp, and both camps feature different techniques and different animations. The schedule is as follows and sample images are in the class image above and sample animations are shown in the class video above: Class 1: Car Animation Class 2: Eye Blinking Animation Class 3: Diamond Animation Class 4: Cupcake Animation Class 5: If time, we will do the swan waterfall animation or we will finish prior projects. **Procreate on the iPad is required for this class. Welcome! If you are looking for a friendly, kind, patient, and interactive teacher for your children, you have come to the right place. I'm so excited you are here! I am looking forward to engaging with your children and teaching digital art.
I have been a school psychologist in various school settings since 2013. As a school psychologist, I evaluate cognitive, academic, social/emotional and behavioral strengths and needs of children in order to help them learn. So, I have extensive experience working with neurodivergent students. I graduated from Temple University with an Educational Specialist Degree (Masters+45 Credits) in School Psychology, and I attended Penn State University for my undergraduate degree in Psychology with a Business focus. While in college, I took numerous art education courses. I have led various social/emotional groups for children in schools, and I have also taught art and drama classes at a summer camp. I am passionate about working with children and families. I am creative and art has been a hobby of mine growing up. I have experience with numerous art mediums, and I have worked with preschool through twelfth grade students. I believe in the power of using art to gain social-emotional skills.
I value getting to know all students I work with, learning names, and ensuring that all students are happy and engaged. I believe all students can learn, and I am very inclusive and loving towards all students I work with.
I have an eleven-year-old lab/terrier mix pup who I love, and she may make a personal introduction during our sessions! I enjoy exploring countries and learning about different cultures; I have been to Israel, Greece, Canada, and Mexico, and I lived in Michigan before moving to Pennsylvania. Can't wait to work with you and your children!
Please message me about any classes you are interested in and we can find a time to do them. I go back to my full time job after Labor Day but would love to provide classes after 5pm EST or on the weekends! I will also have some scheduled on the weekends! Looking forward to hearing from you!
