1 in-class hoursClass Experience
Students will need to have downloaded the app ahead of class. Procreate is a drawing app (iPad) that has many avenues of creating and drawing right on their device. This class will be on-going, staying in the general use of the program. Learning basic tools and functions, creating simple projects, and becoming familiar with Procreate. This is class will be structured as a light lecture, "I do, you do, we do" pacing and interaction. Student's abilities to manipulate the program will determine the pace of the program exploration. Informal assessing, simply 'how are you doing?' and base whether we continue on or stop and practice. Students will get to interact at appropriate times, "open mic" time will allow students to do so. No experience needed, this will be taught as though students never opened the program prior to the course.
Learning Goals
Student will become familiar with the program and create basic art leading up to more projects/classes ahead.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello and welcome!
Thank you for coming to take a look! I teach arts & crafts, K-5 classes, electives, and clubs. I have been teaching for 9 years in different positions such as a learning center teacher, substitute, facilitator, and club leader. I have loved every position because of the amazing students and the opportunities we get to take in their educational careers.
Most students that I have taught say they've had a great and amazing time and the others think I'm funny and cool. So overall past students really enjoy me, as much as I enjoy them! Keeping it fun, interactive, engaging, and real with my students makes all the difference in our day together. Learning is not all about lectures and tests, it's about engagement and hands-on learning for our students.
Certifications I currently hold are substitute teacher and TESOL for ESL/ELL. I have subbed for 5 years in various California school districts and immersed in English Language Learners education throughout my career.
Something fun about me, I LOVE to do my own nails. Yes, I prefer to do them myself. I find new products to try out, paint, design them basically anything! I started being interested when I was around 8 or 9 years old and I self-taught how to paint, make hearts, just really try anything. Once YouTube became available (yes, I'm older than I look) it really was endless possibilities. I like sharing this with my students because it gives them a chance to see no matter what it is if you are interested enough you can make it a hobby or passion!
