In this one time class, learners will learn how to write a "how to" (procedural writing). After watching a video demonstration, learners will sketch and write out the steps of a procedure.

US Grade 1 - 3
In this one time class, learners will learn how to write a "how to" (procedural writing, non-fiction). After watching a video demonstration, students will learn how to plan thier writing and write and illustrate the steps to a procedure. Each week we will focus on a different "how to" procedure that students may use for their writing. However, students are able to write a how-to on a topic of their choice if they prefer.  

Sample Class Structure:
1. Introductions
2. Video demonstration (How to make chocolate milk, How to make Peanut Butter and Jelly, etc).
3. Teacher models how to sketch out and write sentences for each step. 
4. Student Write
5. Student Share of Writing
Learning Goals
Students will improve their ability to use sequence words to describe a procedure of their choice.

Pre-Requisites
Learners should be able to write simple sentences.
Supply List
How-to Paper will be sent in the classroom. If you don't have access to a printer, lined paper and pencil/markers is ok.
