Each week we will cover the essentials to public speaking mastery. We will cover vocal variety, body laguage, content, delivery, using props and more. I will demonstrate a topic and the learners will have the opportunity to present a short impromptu speech on the topics chosen for that week. Each week we will cover one aspect of speech writing and delivery. Over this 11 week class you will learn the essential to becoming competent in speaking in front of a group. At the completion of the class we will have a speech-a-thon where you will be able to delivery your presentation.
I have been a member of Toastmasters International for over fifteen years. I have given hundreds speeches using the techniques I have learned from receiving verbal and written evaluations and have also given hundreds of evaluations to all levels of speakers with their level of skill in mind. I also include tips that develop impromptu speaking skills and advanced voice over work.
Homework Offered
Although homework is not assigned, I encourage every learner to practice what we discuss in class. Practice will help with thier confidence level and that translates in to adding benefit to what is covered in class.Assessments Offered
I will give each learner an verbal assessment during class. Focus will be on the on the strengths of the learner and will include gentle guidance on how to improve. Positive reinforcement is my evaluation strategy that I have been using for years as a toastmaster.Grades Offered
A Microphone of any kind is essential for this class. I encourage learners to use a headset type device. Message me for details if needed. Paper and something to write is required. I encourage all Learners to be on Camera the entire time. It is crucial for the overall evaluation of their delivery of the speeches we write.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
