Homework
Although homework is not assigned, I encourage every learner to practice what we discuss in class. Practice will help with thier confidence level and that translates in to adding benefit to what is covered in class.
Assessment
I will give each learner an verbal assessment during class. Focus will be on the on the strengths of the learner and will include gentle guidance on how to improve. Positive reinforcement is my evaluation strategy that I have been using for years as a toastmaster.

Class Experience

Each week we will cover the essentials to public speaking mastery.  We will cover vocal variety, body laguage, content, delivery, using props and more. I will demonstrate a topic and the learners will have the opportunity to present a short impromptu speech on the topics chosen for that week.  Each week we will cover of the key ingredients to a great performance.  I will encourage the learners to talk about things they already know.  I am a very interactive teacher.  I teach by doing.  Each learner will have the chance to work through the jitters or stage fright.  

Dec 5th: Breaking the Ice.  We start out by giving a short speech about something we know.  It can be any topic the learner choses.  examples are a favorite hobby, a great movie they recently watch, a camping trip or even a talk about their family pet.
December 12th: Organization of Speech Content.  we will cover they outline of any great presentation. Opening, the body and of course the conclusion.
December 19th: Getting to the Point.  How to tailor you presentation to get to the message.  getting rid of the extra verbiage that distracts from the goal.
December 26th: How to Say what you mean.  Drafting a speech with words that make sense. Words are powerful tolls in getting your message to your audience.

Learning Goals

Each week we will cover one aspect of speech writing and delivery. Over this 11 week class you will learn the essential to becoming competent in speaking in front of a group. At the completion of the class we will have a speech-a-thon where you will be able to delivery your presentation.

Other Details

Supply List
A Microphone of any kind is essential for this class.  I encourage learners to use a headset type device. Message me for details if needed.  Paper and something to write is required. I encourage all Learners to be on Camera the entire time. It is crucial for the overall evaluation of their delivery of the speeches we write.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
