Private Yoga & Mindfulness Lesson
Class experience
Private yoga instruction is highly personalized and focused on exactly what's right for the learner! This style of yoga practice is ideal for learners who benefit from individualized instruction or want to integrate what they learn in yoga class into their day to day! In private yoga sessions, we work together to determine intentions and goals (it's best if a parent can give me an idea of this before our lesson). In each lesson, we discuss the ways that yoga can help us and brainstorm...

I am a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-200) and a Registered Children's Yoga Teacher (RCYT-95). I teach from a brain-based and trauma-informed perspective to help support my students, across varying backgrounds and life experiences. I teach yoga as a secular mindfulness and movement practice, and not as a spirituality or philosophy- I strive to make all learners feel welcome! My classes are designed to meet Social Emotional Learning Standards (CASEL) and National PE Standards. All my classes are highly interactive and guiding/inquisitive rather than lecture oriented.
SAFETY DOs & EQUIPMENT - DO make sure students have an open space to practice yoga, away from furniture and sharp edges/objects. - DO take class in a quiet environment to allow the learner to focus on safety instructions. - DO bring a water bottle to class. - DO wear flexible clothing, that stays in place as you move through all the yoga postures. No jeans/dresses/skirts or overly baggy clothes, please. - DO come to class barefoot. This means no socks! - DO practice yoga on a hardwood floor, carpet or non-moving rug. - DO bring a yoga mat, or a towel to class. - If you do not have a yoga mat, DO bring 4 small objects of your choosing (books, smooth rocks, stuffed animals, etc) or masking tape to mark the size and shape of a yoga mat (5.5'x2') on the floor. PLEASE BE AWARE: - It is possible for students to injure themselves during yoga by extending/pushing too far, or by slipping and falling. - Students with asthma or migraines may experience symptoms with certain breathing exercises or inversion postures, respectively. For the purposes of this class, breathing exercises are brief, and inversions are brief or infrequent. - It is my job as the instructor to help students identify their limits, learn about safe movement, and NOT push past those limits to the point of injury. If you know this is challenging for your learner, additional safety guidance from you is appreciated. - I am happy to discuss any health questions or concerns prior to class.
Hello! My name is Lark, and I love encouraging young people in their paths of self-discovery. I've worked with kids in many capacities over the last decade, but I think I like online learning in small groups the very best. I love getting to know...
