In this ongoing class, the student will create a new piece of writing based on teacher prompts or prompts the student needs to write. He/she will analyze the writing, incorporate teacher feedback, and edit the writing to improve it.
Class experience
The teacher will help the student with word choice, organization, and structure, focusing on improving clarity, specificity, and aesthetic. Work will be adjusted to the student’s level so the student isn’t overwhelmed, but is challenged to improve. With his/her experience in this class, the student will apply tools for improving writing that he/she can use on his/her own. Topics: Plot & Short Stories Nonfiction writing, evidence, text analysis Transactional writing Figurative language & Poetry
