Homework
1 hour per week. Please send me a message prior to our session with a description of what you want to get out of this tutoring session. Do you have a specific assignment you want help with or specific questions you would like me to answer?Class Experience
US Grade 4 - 12
Beginner - Advanced Level
Students will receive a one-on-one tutoring session for individualized coaching on their writing. Whatever you are working on - essays, creative writing, or homework exercises for language arts class - I can help. You can submit a draft you’re working on to me in advance, or bring it to class for feedback on the spot. If you aren’t working on a particular piece of writing but want general help with a particular writing skill, please send me a description of the writing goals you want help achieving or a list of questions you have that you’d like me to answer for you in our session. If you aren’t sure what your goals are yet, that’s fine! I can ask you questions to help you brainstorm what you want to achieve in your writing, help you make a plan for reaching those goals, and work with you on removing any obstacles you’re facing when you sit down to write.
Learning Goals
Students may have a range of learning goals. Some possible examples might include:
-Essay organization and formatting
-Grammar and sentence fluency
-Brainstorming strong ideas
-Turning an outline of ideas into a draft
-Literary analysis (what does this story mean?)
-Creative writing (stories, poems, narratives)
-Proofreading
-Citing your sources
