Description
Class Experience
This class is taught in English.
> Understand how structuring language and text can impact meaning > Practise developing ideas from inspirational text and images > To plan and write an extended narrative > Use a range of literary devices to structure their writing The class allow opportunities for learners to express themselves by sharing their ideas and writing through group discussions and activities.
I have taught, as a qualified teacher, in mainstream schools for 20 plus years, and hold a Post Graduate Certificate in Education. I have extensive experience in delivering classroom-based lessons and online sessions in a range of subjects, including English language and literature to students aged 5-16. I currently teach several UK based home-educated students who are studying for their GCSE in English.
Students are encouraged to continue the writing process outside of the sessions. Students are welcome to post their work in the classroom for teacher feedback and support.
All printable support materials will be posted in the classroom 24 hours before the start of each session. Students may either use the printables as the basis for their writing journal, or alternatively, bring a suitable A4 size notebook or lined journal to class. Students will need access to coloring pencils/pens and drawing tools in each session.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
A certificate of completion is issued at the end of the course. Students are encouraged to post either publicly or privately in the classroom if they wish to share ideas, get feedback or ask for additional support.
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
