This Voice / Singing class focuses on developing the skills needed to sing in different music styles. Whether you are interested in classical, pop, jazz, rock, or any other genre, voice classes will help you develop the necessary techniques to sing with accuracy, power, and emotion. Class activities include: - Physical Warmup - Singing exercises on vowels - Expressive exercises - Sight singing and solfege - Music Games **This class will customize teaching content based on the learner's specific needs and goals. Please let us know what you would like to focus on in your singing class, and the class will be tailored the breakdown accordingly. ** Example of Weekly breakdown: Week 1: Introduction to basic vocal technique and warm-up exercises. Understanding the importance of breathing and breath control. Understanding the singer's musical preferences Week 2: Introduction to different singing styles (pop, rock, jazz, etc.). Learning how to use different registers (chest voice, head voice, mixed voice). Exploring vocal dynamics and expression through different exercises and techniques. Week 3: Understanding the importance of proper posture and body alignment for singing. Learning how to use resonance to improve tone quality and projection. Working on phrasing and interpretation of lyrics to convey emotions and meaning. Week 4: Putting everything together to perform a song. Receiving feedback on individual performances and working on areas that need improvement. Reviewing all the techniques and exercises covered throughout the course.

Sheila Paton, B. Mus. in Vocal Performance, brings over 15 years of music teaching experience, catering to diverse age groups and skill levels. Proficient in online teaching platforms like Zoom and Google Classroom, she fosters effective communication and adapts lessons to individual interests and capabilities. Paton excels in motivating students and has experience with special needs learners. Her versatile musical background spans various genres, complemented by training in dance, drama, and musical theatre. Additionally, she actively contributes as a pianist for community events and has participated in numerous choirs, including international tours. Paton's dedication to music education and community involvement shines through her extensive volunteer work.
Sahiba Arora - Voice Teacher
Sahiba Arora was a student at the Mahidol University, College of Music in Bangkok, Thailand, the top music school in Thailand, majoring in Western Classical Performance (Voice).
In 2019, she got the chance to fly to Singapore to join the Vocal Star Music Talent and Competition.
In 2020, she reached the semi-finals round of the 23rd SET Youth Music Competition. In 2022, she won first prize at Saints Got Talent, which gave her the chance to represent her college at provincial finals, “Ontario’s Got Talent”! She has also gotten the chance to perform her first solo with the Windsor Symphony Orchestra in their upcoming March 2023 season.
Karishma Deo - Voice Teacher
Karishma Deo is a singer-songwriter who studied songwriting and composition at the Berklee College of Music. She trained in American pop, R&B, classical music, and diaphragmatic singing, and has also studied Indian classical music, Western vocals, and music theory since the age of 10. In 2018, she performed at the Juno Awards and has shared the stage with several Bollywood artists in concerts across North America. Karishma has released original music in both English and Hindi and has performed for live audiences of over 2,000 people, including broadcasts reaching over a million viewers on live television. As a vocal teacher, her goal is to help students build a strong foundation so they can feel confident singing in any genre of music they choose.
