Beginner - Advanced Level
In private voice lessons, students will learn to sing and build confidence! Lessons will cover a range of topics including fundamentals of reading music, breathing for singing, vocal anatomy, healthy sound production, song interpretation, performance skills, and diction for singers. While my background is in classical music, students can choose to work on pop, classical, folk, and/or musical theatre styles. (Please note that I do not teach belting.) Audition preparation assistance is also available. Each class meeting typically begin with vocal warmups and exercises, followed by application of technical concepts as we work on assigned song(s). Lessons are tailored to the student's individual learning style and level of experience. This class is suitable for complete beginners, as well as students with prior experience. My teaching style is very flexible, supportive, and positive. I give my students space to explore and make mistakes, but I also encourage them to hold themselves to a high standard and do their best. My motto is "progress, not perfection."
