Class Experience

Well Hello Songbirds! Welcome to your private voice lesson!

Students in this class will receive private voice lessons. I will teach them how to sing healthy and with confidence. We will have fun and learn at the same time. We will start with breathing exercises (breathing from the diaphragm) where student will learn how to sing from their diaphragm and support their notes with proper breath flow. They will warm up their voices gradually and receive vocal exercises to help their voice to grow. I will show them different vocal techniques and develop the following areas:

* Learn their vocal range
* Learn to sing on pitch
* Learn to sing on Vowels (Use vowels as well as consonants)
* Learn how to sing softly and belt notes
* Learn the difference between chest voice and head voice
* Learn their voice and learn to love their voice
* Learn a clean, fun song from a genre of their liking.
* Learn to perform the song
* Learn to sing with confidence

I have an unorthodox, fun way of teaching. I've been teaching voice lessons for over 25 years. All skillsets are welcome, from the beginner to the trained singer. My desire is to bring out your best voice.

Come on in Songbirds! You're welcome to take my class.

Teacher expertise and credentials
I've been a vocal coach for over 25 years. I majored in Music Education with an emphasis in Voice at Norfolk State University. I'm a Vocal Coach, Voice Over Artist, Director, Singer and Actress. I've performed with the Virginia Opera Association and many different Artists. I teach Workshops and Master Classes. I produce and direct plays and love to give back to the community with the Arts. I'm thankful I've accomplished so many things; however, seeing my students grow and have fun while using their voice means more to me than all the things I've accomplished.
