Assessment

Class Experience

In this course students will learn songs in a variety of different styles as well as vocal and physical techniques in order to improve their voice according to their personal goals. These goals might include preparing for an audition, choral and harmonic training or just general improvement of their voice. There is no required experience for this class.

Students will have the opportunity to perform their songs in front of other private students through enrolling in my other course, “Voice Labs” once a month or whenever they are ready to do so. This will give them performance experience and a chance to show others what they have learned. Below is some topics they will be learning and improving on throughout their private lesson.

1. Breath support
2. Vowels and Diction
3. Tongue, Mouth and Body structure
4. Pitch and Overall Tone
5. Song Memorization
6. Artistic Emotion
7. Acting/ Character Creation
8. Vibrato and how to use it
9. Voice Projection
10. Classical-Broadway Style-Jazz-POP-Foriegn (Italian-French-German-Latin)-Arts Songs

Learning Goals

The Learning goals for this class include improvement in breath support, tone, pitch, style, acting and other aspects of a professional singer based upon the students personal goals. For example, lets say a student might want lessons to prepare for a choral audition. In this case, we would choose songs relating to this topic and work on choral techniques that a director will be looking for when auditioning a potential member.

I adjust my lessons around each student depending on their individual needs. Feel free to leave feed back for a past class!

If you’d need a time that is not available, please email me and I will try my best to accommodate you!
