Welcome to Ms. Tinca’s studio! Lessons are flexible, fun and they focus on the music you love! Are you a beginner with no experience? I will give you all the tools you need to start your musical journey. Do you have a few years of experience playing the violin or other musical instruments? We will build on your knowledge and work together to reach your goals. Having a foundation in classical technique is important, but we will also have fun learning songs and pieces that inspire you! Do you love pop, rock, jazz, musicals, famous movie songs, or classical pieces? Great, we can get right to work! This is a one-time trial class where your learner can meet with me, Ms. Tinca, and see if we would be a good fit for ongoing private violin classes. Beginners, intermediate, and advanced students are all welcome! In this trial lesson, we will play the violin, get to know each other, talk about your learner’s interests, and discuss lesson goals and structure. We will also discuss any materials and equipment needed for violin lessons. My teaching approach is interactive, using a combination of engaging activities, demonstrations, and games to help students apply the concepts taught. My teaching style is encouraging and patient, and I am committed to creating a positive and nurturing learning environment for my students. I believe that every student has the potential to learn to play the violin and I am committed to helping students strengthen their confidence and explore their creativity. If you do not see a time that suits your schedule, please contact me and request a time. I am always happy to accommodate! I am excited to meet your learner and dive into the wonderful world of music-making!

Teacher expertise and credentials
2 Degrees
Master's Degree in Music from Indiana University
Bachelor's Degree in Music or Theatre or Arts from Lynn University
I am a very passionate performer and educator. I teach violin and piano in private and group settings, music theory and history, music appreciation, world music, and music performance.
I am from Romania and I grew up in a music-oriented family. I started studying music when I was 6 years old and I have been performing all around the world ever since. I have a Bachelor of Music degree from Lynn University, Florida, and a Master of Music in Violin Performance from Indiana University. I participated in many national and international competitions, including John Oliveira String Competition, Alhambra Concerto Competition, Remember Enescu International Competition, and The National Music Competition of Romania. I was a fellow in the DaCamera Young Artist Program in Houston for two years, where I participated in an exciting variety of performances, school visits, and workshops. I am a core member and substitute musician in different professional orchestras and ensembles, including Symphony of Southeast Texas, Wintergreen Festival Orchestra, Palm Beach Opera, and Atlantic Classical Orchestra.
As an educator, I have over six years of experience teaching all ages and skill levels. Prior to my current private studio, I was a faculty member at Campbell Learning Center, Spring School of Music, and a visiting violin instructor at Travis Elementary School in Houston. I held a private violin studio at Lynn Preparatory School of Music in Florida and I was a mentor at Plumosa School of the Arts and Nat King Cole SummerStrings Music Camp in Palm Beach Country. My students have participated in orchestra auditions, solo or orchestral competitions, and ABRSM exams in all grade levels, where they passed with the highest distinction.
My teaching philosophy is that every student has a unique way of learning; therefore, I choose teaching methods and lesson plans that are suitable for each student’s needs. All of my students play in recitals, they do better in school work since they started learning music and some of them are even planning on becoming professional musicians. Learning music is one of the most fulfilling and joyous activities, which fosters motor skills, cognitive development, and social skills. Creating a positive and nurturing environment for students can have a great impact on their professional and personal development. Learning music is much more than learning how to play notes on an instrument; it helps students understand and learn how to convey emotions through music, how to communicate using different expression methods, and ultimately how to be happy, compassionate people. Whether you are seeking to learn music for fun or professionally, I truly believe I can guide you or your learner in this journey.
On a personal note, I love reading, watching good movies, cooking, listening to good music of all styles, traveling to exciting places, and spending time with my family.
