Private Violin Lessons for Ages 7 - 18

Class
Private Violin Lessons for Students 7 - 18 years of age. This class is a one on one private study of the violin. I focus on technique, note reading as well as having fun and great practice and performance skills.

Class experience

I have been teaching and performing for over 25 years and have performed in symphonies and chamber ensembles all over the U.S. I studied Music and Literature at the University of Cincinnati and Northern Arizona University and received a Bachelor's of the Arts. I am a certified Suzuki Instructor. I have completed classes of Performance Psychology for Educators with the Juilliard Performance Coach, Noa Kageyama Ph.D. I am also able to use the traditional method of teaching classical violin. I do teach reading music after my students begin to get a decent tone and are able to play with control (usually the middle of Suzuki Book 1).
Violin
Suzuki Books
Anything your child is working on at the moment. I also use these exercise books: Kreutzer, Rode, Mazas, Dont Sevcik, Schradieck, Whistler and Yost. For scales I use Hrimaly, Carl Flesch and Ivan Galamian scale systems.
If the student is younger than 13, I do require a parent to sit in on the lesson. If the student is 13 - 15, I recommend the parent watch the lesson but their attendance is not required. Attendance is the best way to see what your child is learning and how you can help during practice time to ensure your child's best outcome.
Suzuki Book 1 - 10. We can begin with a book that is appropriate to the learners ability.
