Description

Class Experience

I am a professional performer and teacher. I have a Bachelor of Music degree from Lynn University, Florida and I am currently part of the DaCamera Young Artist Program in Houston. I am a core member and substitute musician in different professional orchestras and ensembles, including Symphony of Southeast Texas, Wintergreen Festival Orchestra, Palm Beach Opera and Atlantic Classical Orchestra.
As a teacher, I have over four years of experience teaching all ages and skill levels. I am currently a faculty member at Campbell Learning Center, Spring School of Music and a visiting violin instructor at Travis Elementary School in Houston. I held a private violin studio at Lynn Preparatory School of Music in Florida and I was a mentor at Plumosa School of the Arts and Nat King Cole SummerStrings Music Camp in Palm Beach Country.
In order to have rapid progress, learners are encouraged to practice for a minimum of 15 min per day outside of private lessons.
Violin (with strings), bow, shoulder rest, rosin, and lesson book (contact the teacher for level appropriate lesson book).
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
After completing a new piece from the book, the student will record it with piano accompaniment and post it to the class wall (optional).
Students are encouraged to join the group studio class, where learners of various levels and ages meet to play for each other in a casual, friendly environment, listen to other students play and give suggestions or comments (suggested for students with at least one year of experience).
30 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
