Class Experience

Welcome to our winter recital! Thank you all for your dedication and hard work :) This is not intended to be a formal event, merely an opportunity to play for everyone you are learning music with and to get to make new friends through Outschool.
Today each of you will have the opportunity to meet the other students that you have been learning with over the last few months. We will start off in the program order that will be determined two weeks before the recital. The dress code will be the same as whatever you typically wear to class, but if you feel like it this is the perfect opportunity to get a little fancy and dress up. After the concert, I'll sort everyone into breakout rooms according to approximate age and levels and you can spend the rest of the time getting to know one another. Please do your best to sign up for one of the events, but also feel free to send me a message if none of the times work for you but you would still like an opportunity to play in the recital.
NOTE: If you are not CURRENTLY enrolled in the ongoing class for Private Violin and Piano Lessons you will be withdrawn and refunded. If you are not currently enrolled and would like a performance opportunity, please feel to join the studio by enrolling in ongoing lessons.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello! I am a professional violinist, teacher, and orchestra director based in the Boston area. I have performed in over 7 countries and studied with violinists from Oberlin and Eastman Conservatories, as well as the San Francisco Symphony and Oberlin Conservatory. I believe that music is first and foremost a wonderful form of self-expression and an escape from the busy lives we all lead. In my experience teaching young children, as well as in my own life, music education provides the perfect environment to learn the most important life skills. Imagination, curiosity, self-discipline, and a love of learning are at the forefront of my violin curriculum. I enjoy working with students of all ages and prefer to fully tailor my curriculum and lesson plans to the individual student, how they learn, and how they enjoy learning. I have worked with students aged 3 to 21 both in my own business, and with the Peer Teaching Program at Oberlin Conservatory. I have performed in San Francisco, Austria, Hungary, the Czech Republic, and Slovakia as a first violinist with the El Camino Youth Symphony. I have also competed and participated in the Pedagogy Masterclass Series at the Semper International Music Festival. My experiences as a private tutor in math and college writing have also influenced my music pedagogy as well as my skills in lesson development. Besides teaching and playing the violin, I love cooking and baking with my friends, reading outside in the summer, and playing with my cat Jodha.
