Class Experience

The course meets via live video chat. Students can choose from any of my other listed ukulele classes and receive private instruction in these skills. Students who have mastered the basics can choose other songs to learn. Please either bring a song with you to learn (internet links to chords/song sheets are fine) or message me in advance with suggestions of songs for me to try to arrange. Lessons will focus on chord changes, strumming patterns, finger-picking, accompaniment skills while singing, and playing of melody lines. Instruction can be modified for students with diverse learning needs. Students are welcome to sign up for single sessions or multiple sessions.

Please message me directly (rather than making a scheduling request) to schedule a time. When signing up, it is helpful to provide some background on playing experience and if the student is interested in learning particular skills.

Other Details

Parental Guidance
American popular music from various eras and styles will be used in these courses. Any songs with questionable language will be used in their "clean" version, but families who are sensitive to popular/rock/folk artists and the various associations that go along with them should be aware.
Supply List
Students need to have a ukulele and should come to lessons with the ukulele working and tuned. Please see the blog post I made detailing how to purchase/acquire a ukulele and how to set it up for your first lesson: http://bit.ly/ukulelestart

Students who are younger and/or have little musical experience might want an adult nearby to assist with tuning if needed.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
