Assessment
I will assess your student by using a running record in our first meeting. This assessment tool can provide insight on reading accuracy and an analysis of a reader's errors and self-corrections. I will also include comprehension questions to assess the reader's comprehension of the reading.Class Experience

In this ongoing session, I will provide private tutoring in reading comprehension, vocabulary development, fluency, and phonics. I will assess your student during our first meeting and develop individualized lessons to meet their learning goals. I will provide all assessment analysis and teacher notes for you or your student's classroom teacher so we can work together as a team to reach your student's learning goals. I am flexible on meeting times if you would like to meet for than once a week, so please reach out to me if you don't see a time that works for you. *Pricing is per class: $30 for once a week, $60 for twice a week, etc.

Hello! I'm so happy to meet you. I am interested in teaching all things reading, including comprehension strategies, vocabulary development, fluency, and book study groups as well as dance and fitness. I am a certified elementary teacher in grades K-6 and a certified reading specialist in grades K-12. I have taught in many settings including public school, charter school, private school, home school, and online settings. I have over 15 years of teaching experience, several years as a literacy coach, and I developed a curriculum for a tutoring program for struggling readers. I have taught all core subjects as a 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade classroom teacher, and I have taught reading intervention to students in K-8. I love making connections with my students and sharing my love of reading. I'm so excited to meet your student in class.
