This class will focus on multiplication and division computation skills of fourth and fifth graders. The class will be one hour long and twice a week for eight weeks. We will use zoom. I will share my screen with the students and will be using a white board as well as workbook pages to work through the problems step by step. We will also do word problems. In word problems, my main focus will be to teach students to identify key words that tell them when to multiply and when to divide. All too often, students get the wrong answer not because they did not know how to multiply or divide, but because they do not know when to multiply and when to divide. They will be required to have a tutoring notebook and pencil. At times, they will be asked to do a numerical or word problem on their own and submit the answer in the chat. This way, I can see the progress of every individual student. We will use different methods to multiply and divide numbers.
