Hello Outschool families! My name is Denise and I am an animated, patient, and effective reading tutor! I strive to create a positive learning environment where students feel comfortable making mistakes and are happy to come to class each week. This 5 week course is for students who require short term reading tutoring. Our first class will consist of an assessment, and then each week afterwards will provide personalized lessons to help target your child's literacy needs. Every class will...
Students will improve their phonemic and phonological awareness. This will improve their fluency and reading confidence.
I have a Bachelors degree in Drama in Education, as well as a 250h TESOL diploma. I have tutored children online for 5 years.
Depending on the child's learning style, sometimes worksheets will be assigned.
An informal placement assessment will be conducted during the first class.
25 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
