Class Experience

The learning goals include being able to determine how lines and shapes contribute toward proper proportion, placement of light and dark values, how to critique a drawing in order to make corrections, and how to blend. Skills needed to master media other than pencil are included as goals.
Students are encouraged to work on a skill taught in class on their own time for at least an hour. We will be critiquing and discussing progress together the next time we meet.
*Sketchpad - any size * Set of drawing pencils that includes different grades * Eraser * Sharpener * Stump or Q-tip for blending * An image of the desired subject to draw (please share the image with the teacher via the teacher tab on the learner’s page) * Materials for media other than pencil will be communicated depending on the choice
Progress assessment is informal. This includes advice given during class, and by notes provided on the learner’s page.
1 hour per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
