I am offering private tutoring sessions to teach your child how to code. I will assess their knowledge and level of coding and then map a course for him/her. Example lesson: Using characters from the game Angry Birds, students will develop sequential algorithms to move a bird from one side of a maze to the pig at the other side. To do this they will stack code blocks together in a linear sequence, making them move straight, turn left, or turn right. During online activities, the role of the...
In this lesson, students will develop programming and debugging skills on a computer platform. The block-based format of these puzzles help students learn about sequence and concepts, without having to worry about perfecting syntax.
Currently, I am the lead STEM teacher in my Elementary School for lower primary grades. I have years of experience teaching robotics, coding, circuits, and more. I was trained in Singapore where I was a teacher for 5 years. I was the Science Coordinator of my International school and lead a Makerspace program. Now I teach first grade at a public school in California.
I will provide a code.org username and password for all students in this class.
55 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
We will use Code.org. I have an Educator account, so I will make your child a secure safe student account that I can monitor. Only they will be able to access it with a given username and password that I will provide.
