Hi! I'm a licensed early childhood teacher (K-3), and I'm also licensed to teach Spanish (K-12). I'm happy to tutor or have one-on-one lessons with students in any of these areas: Phonics and reading Spanish immersion for non-native speakers Spanish instruction with English support for non-native speakers Spanish immersion time for native speakers Math for ages 3 - 9 (pre-K through about fifth grade) English immersion for non-native speakers If there’s another subject area you’re interested in, please let me know! Hello, friends! I am a specialist in Early Childhood Education (Master of Arts in Teaching), and I've been teaching online for over 4 years. Before that, I was a preschool and kindergarten classroom teacher. I love when learning is so fun and engaging that students don't even realize that they're learning new things! (Shh...)
I'm a native English speaker, I speak Spanish with my family, I studied French in France and Quebec, and my son and I are learning Mandarin (we've been learning for about three years) and Japanese together. Needless to say, I love language -- I love teaching, studying, and having fun with different languages.
I'm also excited for you to meet my best friend -- my cottontail rabbit. I find that animals (especially rabbits!) help shy and nervous students open up and feel more at home in online classes.
A few of my interests that I'd like to incorporate in classes are:
- video games, particularly Zelda (all of them), Super Mario, Mario Kart, Pokemon
- pets, wildlife, plants, and nature in general -- I'm an avid gardener
- geography and culture, because I believe learning about other people builds empathy and character
- art and music, which help internalize new concepts and big ideas
- stories... I just love to read
