Class Experience

Homework will be assigned if requested. If your child will be unable to complete the assigned homework before our next session, please let me know as soon as possible so that I can make alternate lesson plans.

If you would like me to work with your child on assignments from other classes or on work they began independently, please send me the assignment or draft at least 2 hours prior to class so that I have time to review it.
Learners should always have something to write on and something to write with, even if they are working on reading. Typing is acceptable as long as your learner can access both the Zoom classroom and their writing at the same time. Students working on their reading skills are encouraged to bring whatever they are currently reading to class.

For some sessions, learners may be asked to use additional tools such as a highlighter, different colored pens/pencils, post-its, scissors and tape, scrap paper, or a reference object (for example, a photograph or favorite object). Writers who type their work may be asked to print a copy for some activities.
Parents will receive a short, informal summary of their learner's progress after each of the first two meetings, and as needed or requested thereafter.
25 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
