In this 6 week class learners will work with an experienced presenter and pretend to present different styles of YouTube video or TV show, learning top presenting tips along the way for their own future videos/shows.

Class experience

Learners will develop their presenting skills across different areas by exploring different styles of presenting.
I am a fully qualified teacher (BAPA, PGCE) with 16+ years of experience teaching Drama (and Performing Arts, English, Music, and PSHCE (Personal Social Health Education) in bricks and mortar schools, where I currently still teach part-time, including running small group and 1:1 confidence-building workshops. I also have many years of experience leading community workshop schemes (like create a play in a week) and local drama groups for ages 4 to 16.

As a professional actress, I've performed to children from ages 2-14 in theatres, arts centres, social clubs, historical properties, nurseries, and schools. Playing roles such as the Gingerbread man and a tortoise, to a wartime headmistress and Queen Elizabeth the first! With lots of Q & A and interactive workshops along the way.

I then branched into presenting (live, events, radio, TV, and for holiday companies across Europe) including some Voiceover work. I currently create and present drama and presenter tuition videos and have a regular podcast.

I have produced and directed many productions (musicals and plays) as well, including some I have written myself.

I am very experienced in coaching learners to produce their best performance, and I love seeing them develop in front of my eyes. Many of my ex-students have gone on to study at prestigious London stage schools in acting and directing, even though we are over 200 miles away, and they only take a small number from out of the catchment area each year. Previous learners have achieved several A+ grades in a speech and drama festival, top grades in a session of 20, and a Bronze overall against native speakers, second round of a national competition. I have also coached learners on all different levels, like one who didn't wish to speak when I started working with him (aged 10) but he ended up playing the lead role in his final year production (aged 15).
Homework Offered
Learners are welcome to work on their presenting piece after class each week to share with Mrs. T the next week, for on-the-spot feedback.
Assessments Offered
Mrs. T will give lots of in-class feedback, and will often follow up with after-class feedback in the classroom too.
Grades Offered
Learners will be provided with short script extracts pasted in the chat box.
Please note that as this class is for 8-12 year olds we will only be making PRETEND YouTube videos and learners won't ever be asked to look at any real YouTube content. Learners need to be 13 to set up their own YouTube channel, but this class can help them learn the skills to start trying out making pretend videos until they are old enough to launch themselves.
