Class experience
This class is meant to serve as a convenient one-on-one tutoring session for middle school and high school-aged students. I will assist with homework, studying, and explaining topics of confusion. I can offer ESL tutoring as well. The content of each class will be based on what the parent and student request. Examples include, but are not limited to: -Writing a book report -A math homework assignment that is challenging for them -Spelling practice/quizzes -Studying for a test -Practicing...
I am a homeschooling mom of five kids, ranging in age from ten to nineteen. We are diving into our 6th year of homeschool and we love it. I have a passion for both education and creativity and I love combining the two whenever I can. When I'm not teaching (my kids or someone else's), I run a business based purely on creativity and art. Traveling (and 8 years of formal classes) gave me a handle on the Spanish language. I have a background in general education from 19 years of combined experience teaching in public and charter school settings, as well as tutoring one on one, ESL, and running various camps and activities. My experience ranges from childcare (infant) age all the way through high school age and includes work with neurodiverse and special needs students, as well as students with mental health issues. I have a passion for, and educational background in Graphic Art/Design, however, my degrees are AA in Liberal Studies and a BA in General Studies with a concentration in Psychology. I am also TESOL certified.
Parent or Student must supply the lesson topic prior to the lesson. This could be anything from "I want my learner to practice reading." to an image of a worksheet they need assistance with.
For this particular course, the content is based purely on what the needs of the learner are. This means that when a learner is registered, the parent or guardian needs to indicate in the private classroom what they want their child to receive help with. If it is homework-related help, an image or description of the assignment would be very helpful.
