Class Experience

US Grade 1 - 6
Hello! I am an experienced and friendly tutor who values fostering a positive and personalized learning environment for your child. I have ample experience with students with dyslexia, ADHD, and Autism Spectrum Disorder. I am an animated and enthusiastic teacher who uses positive reinforcement to encourage confidence and growth.

Most children enter tutoring with a "Swiss cheese" of previous understanding. Their struggles are not often linear; they may excel with one reading concept while simultaneously lacking fluency with another. It is my job to figure out where the holes are and create a diagnostic tutoring plan that will strengthen these weaknesses. Our first class will be spent thoroughly assessing your child's phonological awareness and fluency, and then a personalized learning plan will be developed for them.

A Typical Class Structure:
Warm up with visual, auditory, and blending drills (10 minutes)
Review previous taught concepts (10 minutes)
New material (15 minutes)
Sight words (5 minutes)
Spelling dictation (10 minutes)
Reading words, phrases, sentences, and/or a brief story (10 minutes)

Please send me a message if you would like to discuss your child's needs prior to registering.
Learning Goals
Students with dyslexia or other reading difficulties will learn the necessary decoding strategies to drastically improve their reading fluency and confidence.
