Private Tutoring for Reading Comprehension and Fluency

In this private tutoring session, your student will learn how to use different reading strategies that will help with comprehension of a text. We will also practice reading for fluency.

Reading skills include but are not limited to:
Organizing Text
Making Connections
Text Features
Recount/Summarize

Class Structure
*Class will start with a fun warm-up activity to get your student comfortable and ready to learn.

*Student will be introduced to reading strategies that will be used during reading to help strengthen comprehension and fluency.

*We will then have a discussion before reading a short story to check for prior knowledge on the topic of the text.

*Student will then receive a guided reading lesson. During this lesson your student will read a text (using the reading strategies introduced earlier) and will answer comprehension questions during and after reading. We will also focus on reading fluency.

*If time allows, We will end the class with another fun exit activity.
