Class Experience

US Grade Preschool
Beginner - Advanced Level
This class is a 1 on 1 private tutoring class for students. Please message me after enrolling to discuss what you would like to focus on in tutoring. The first class will be an assessment regarding what the parent would like to work on in the tutoring sessions. After the first class, I will create a lesson plan to help the student learn the information discussed in the first meeting and beyond!

I am open to working on specific items that the student needs help with. I'm also open to creating lesson plans to help your student continue to grow and learn at their own pace. As a homeschooling mom and tutor, I have experience working with dyslexic and learning disabled students in both reading and math, including two of my own children. I have tutored several students who have learning disabilities. I have also taught and tutored several students who are neurotypical, including two more of my own children. I have learned and used many Orton Gillingham methods throughout my tutoring. I find that Orton Gillingham methods work well for students who have difficulty reading as well as students who don't. My tutoring philosophy is to work at the students' pace to help them feel confident in their abilities and to challenge them to reach that next level in their learning. I love to make learning fun through games and activities. Each week there may be items needed to help your student be engaged in the learning process. We can discuss this during the first meeting further.

I have also been approved by All About Learning to use the Orton Gillingham curriculum All About Reading in my tutoring sessions. In order to do so, the students would need their own copy of the student guide, books and tiles app from the company. I love this curriculum! It's is amazing for struggling readers!

Hello! My name is Stacey and I am a homeschooling mom of 4. I have a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Masters of Arts in Mental Health Counseling. I have seven years of online teaching experience teaching children online. I also have 15 years of experience counseling children and their families to cope with big feelings and helping them increase their communication skills. I also currently run 2 companies!

I became a homeschooling Mom to 3 of my 4 children in 2018 when my son was diagnosed with dyslexia and dysgraphia. The school he attended was not able to teach him to read so I learned how to teach reading to him using Orton Gillingham techniques and curriculum. I have since taught many children to read by using movement, activities, and lots of fun! Learning to teach children to read has become one of my passions in life!

I believe that children learn best when they feel cared for and are having fun! When older children understand how the curriculum will help them in their everyday lives they are more likely to retain the information and become a partner in their own learning. This makes learning so much more interesting for the student. It's our job as parents and teachers to help your child understand how the topics they learn will help them today and in their future!

My other passion in life includes teaching students about personal finance. This is something I've been interested in since I was a teenager, and I hope to be able to teach as many students as possible about how to build wealth through budgeting and being mindful of their income and expenses. I am excited to share this knowledge with your students!

When I'm not in the classroom, I can usually be found reading a great book or lounging in my pool or on the beach. I live in sunny FL, about 10 minutes from the beach and we enjoy going often. So if you see me in class with a sunburned face, you know why!

I look forward to partnering with you to teach your child something new and amazing! Thank you for the honor of being your child's teacher. I don't take this responsibility lightly. See you in the classroom!
