WHAT WILL BE TAUGHT: - present tense (I speak...) - present continuous tense (I am speaking...) - future tense (I will speak...) - relevant time words (today, now, tomorrow, every day, sometimes, often, usually) All three classes will cover ALL three tenses, but each class will have a focus on one tense in particular. WHAT TOPICS WILL BE COVERED: Day 1: hobbies (present tense focus) Day 2: clothing (present continuous tense focus) Day 3: school (future tense focus) HOW THE COURSE IS STRUCTURED: Warm Up Grammar Review Focused Grammar Instruction Short Story (Uses grammar focus of the day) Free Talk Practice HOW I TEACH: Mini-game based on the topic of the day (hobbies, clothing, school) Slide show presentation Software that displays images and real-time text in order to guide conversation and prompt students when struggling MY TEACHING STYLE: I strive to make every conversation accessible for every student. I use computer software to display images related to specific words as they come naturally in conversation, so that all students are able to understand the context of the conversation. I also use computer software that allows me to type directly onto my screen so that students can read the sentence frames or new words that they learn in class. This combination of learning by hearing AND seeing is more supportive than learning through only hearing OR seeing.
