Early Literacy Tutoring:
In this ongoing one-on-one tutoring class your child will build early literacy skills that are the foundation of becoming a successful reader! This class will be tailored to fit your child based on current skills and knowledge of letters, sounds and phonemic awareness. We will focus on skills that your child is ready to learn with guidance and encouragement!
At the beginning of each week your child will be introduced to new content (based on need and ability). Through oral repetition, kinesthetic movement, songs/chants, games and writing (when appropriate) we will practice skills and build confidence!
*Some skills that may be included (but not limited to) for your child's individual early literacy learning plan are:
      *Letters/Sounds
      *Sight Words
      *Phonemic Awareness - segmentation/blending
      *Beginning Reading Strategies - sound out words, look at the picture, think...what would make sense in context

Early Math Tutoring:
In this ongoing one-on-one tutoring class your child will build early math skills that are the foundation of success in mathematics! This class will be tailored to fit your child based on current mathematical knowledge with a focus on skills that your child is ready to learn with guidance and encouragement!
I will work with your child to increase numeracy and number sense by cover topics such as counting and cardinality, operations and algebraic thinking and numbers in base ten.
I teach using hands on materials (as needed), oral repetition, interactive games and through drawing/writing! In this class your child is sure to build confidence and fluency as a math learner!

*A combination of early literacy and math is an option too! I am flexible and look forward to making this tutoring class an exciting learning adventure for your child!

*After enrolling your child, please send me as much information about your child's early literacy/math knowledge including strengths and areas for improvement.
**If I do not receive information before class begins, the first class will be an assessment of your child's current early literacy/math knowledge/skills.
