Class Experience
US Grade 5 - 9
This class will provide individualized support to students who want to improve their writing skills. The focus will be determined by the student's preferences. We may work on short stories or on developing a longer piece for review. We will work on GoogleDocs so that the experience is collaborative for the student, and they can get real-time feedback. We may also incorporate readings of creative writing examples to provide students with models to work with. Lessons may also incorporate mini lectures as needed to help students understand important concepts about creative writing. Sample topics for learning include: - story structure - language choice - character development - dialogue development

Parental Guidance
The class session will involve using Google Docs. Students should have an account they can access to save their work, but they will be able to share an anonymous link to access work to collaborate with the instructor.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

I have an MA and PhD in English from the University of Texas at Austin, and a BA in English from the University of Cambridge. I currently work as an English professor, teaching literature and writing classes. I have also been tutoring for about 15 years, specializing in literature, writing, and humanities subjects.
