Description
Class Experience
In this class, we will tailor class time to that subject our student needs focused work on. On the math side, I have considerable experience tutoring arithmetic, pre-algebra, algebra and geometry. With language arts, I have coached many students with their writing, and families have reached out to me when a particular piece of literature needs special attention. I currently coach students who are preparing for standardized tests, and I have the background to help students who are artistic...
The student will improve in those areas that they themselves have identified as subjects of concern.
This is an enjoyable, down-to-earth class, appropriate for anyone who is serious.
Because this is an experience tailor-made to a single student, I will be assigning test-appropriate homework that will reinforce the material we covered during the session. I have a wealth of material in my files that I can assign for homework and I have a sharp instinct for what to "prescribe" at the end of the class. I am good at giving students the right amount of the right kind of homework.
Upon request, a brief email reporting on student engagement will be sent after the class.
2 hours per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
This class is academically oriented. There is no content that might be considered alarming.
I have plenty of material of a wide variety to carry the class. Our student really only needs to bring themselves to the meeting. That said, any study material that our student would like to bring to class and consult with is welcome. I like study assists of every stripe. I enjoy collecting them, and I am always interested in finding out about new ones.
